I'm Eve; wife, mother, and lover of all things yummy. I am
also daughter and grand-daughter to women who loved to cook, and were good at
it. My mother and grandmothers taught me to follow a recipe to a tee (especially when baking), but they also let me know it was okay to break away and do my own thing. Those are good lessons in and out of the kitchen.
I spent many days of my youth in both of my grandmother's kitchens learning to bake and cook (and play “I spy”). When I wasn’t helping out, I would watch as my grandmother, mother, and aunts created meals. I would listen while they conversed about their lives, or the news, or an upcoming holiday. Many nights were ended at my Grandparent’s house in Ohio with a My Fair Lady or South Pacific sing-a-long.
The kitchen was always a happy place for me. It’s these memories that launched my passion for food, but it’s my husband Ryan and son Noah that propel this love forward in my life now. My “Nation of Three” is my inspiration to be better both in and out of the kitchen.
I hope you enjoy this page and my journey to recapture some of these old kitchen memories. Recipes, remembered and (sometimes) remastered.
